Safe things to check first

- 1Make sure the range is fully plugged in and the breaker for it hasn't tripped at the panel.
- 2Look for a control lock or Sabbath mode icon on the display and hold that button a few seconds to clear it.
- 3Lift the burner caps and grates and check for spilled food or standing moisture blocking the igniter's spark path.
- 4Set an oven thermometer on the middle rack, preheat to 350, and note how far off the real reading is.

Do you work on gas and electric ranges both?
Yes. Gas igniters, valves and safety valves, plus electric elements, switches and control boards. We also handle dual-fuel slide-ins with a gas top and electric oven. Tell us the fuel type when you call us so we bring likely parts.
Is it safe to keep using the stovetop if the oven is broken?
Often yes, since they run on separate parts. But stop right away if you smell gas, see sparks, or the burner flames are lifting off and yellow. Shut off the appliance and call us before using it again.
Why does my oven smell like gas when it first turns on?
A short whiff at ignition can be normal as gas reaches the igniter. A lingering smell is not. If it persists, shut off the gas at the valve, ventilate the room, and step outside before calling for help.
How long does a typical stove repair visit take?
Most single-failure repairs wrap up in one visit once we confirm the bad part. Diagnosis usually takes under an hour. Control boards and specialty igniters sometimes need ordering, and we schedule a return trip to install them.
My glass cooktop has a crack. Can that be fixed?
The glass itself is replaced, not repaired. Stop using it in the meantime, since cracks let liquid reach the wiring underneath. Send us the model number and we'll check whether a replacement surface is still available.
Should I repair a range that's twelve years old?
Depends on what failed. Igniters, elements and switches are routine repairs worth doing on an older unit. When a control board and a second major part both go at once, we walk you through the tradeoff honestly.
